Reload Love's Camo Run Brings Hope to Kids in Burma

At Reload Love's Camo Run on Sunday, September 28, over $5,000 was raised to help bring hope to children who have been affected by terrorism. Over 200 runners, donned in camo attire and Camo Run T-shirts, participated in the 5k run/walk event in the Bosque near the Reload Love offices. They were also joined by the founders of the Free Burma Rangers (FBR), a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement that aids and defends people under attack from Burma's government. Proceeds from the event went to the Good Life Club, the relief arm of the FBR that helps mothers and children in displaced communities in Burma. The event also brought in several new monthly donors to support Reload Love's cause. Reload Love set a goal this year to raise $1 million for the Good Life Club so children in Burma can learn about and receive the abundant life that Christ offers.

October Connection Resource

If you tune out the hopeless news the world slams at you day after day, you're probably not alone. But as believers in Jesus, we need to be spiritually tuned into what's happening around the world. In this month's resource, you'll find Pastor Skip Heitzig's book Homeland Security, which shows you how to stand against spiritual threats. Also included is Dr. Erwin Lutzer's book The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent—a call for the church to recognize and respond to the spread of Islam. And in the Skip Heitzig Connects You with Dr. Erwin Lutzer DVD interview, you'll dive deeper into these issues as Pastor Skip and Dr. Lutzer candidly discuss the spiritual state of our country. It's time to wake up!

Order this special October resource from The Connection for a donation of any amount. Place your order online or when you call 1.800.922.1888.

Pastor Skip Interviews Dave Eubank

At the weekend services on September 27-28, we welcomed Free Burma Rangers founder Dave Eubank, who serves the Lord by defending and aiding people in the warzones in Burma. The Battle Drums team opened the services with songs about God's power and sovereignty before we watched a video of Lenya Heitzig, founder and president of Reload Love, explaining the heart behind their mission. Pastor Skip welcomed Dave Eubank and his family as they introduced themselves to the congregation. Dave then explained how the Lord called his family to Burma and what the Free Burma Rangers do to help the people there who are caught in the crossfire of the country's continuing civil war. Dave's wife, Karen, also talked about the Good Life Club, the relief arm of the Free Burma Rangers that aids mothers and children. For one of its goals this year, Reload Love is raising funds for the Good Life Club so children affected by terrorism in Burma can receive medical aid and learn about abundant life in Christ. Visit reloadlove.com to learn more about Reload Love and they work they do.
