This Weekend at Calvary

We continue in the series Jesus Loves People with this weekend's message, "Jesus Loves Murderers." Jesus loves everyone and is compassionate toward all people. In this message, we see the mercy of Jesus, even as He was being led to the cross. Join us this weekend as Pastor Skip takes us through Luke 23:33-34 and examines how Jesus loves murderers—even those who murdered Him.

Students' Faith Recharged at Reboot 2015

Over 200 mid-high and high school students received a boost to their faith as they took over the Calvary campus April 17-19 for Reboot 2015. Musical guest Bellarive rocked The Hub with their phenomenal sound, leading the students in powerful, high-energy worship, and guest speaker Alex Sagot delivered practical, relevant Bible teachings. He challenged the students to listen for God's voice, to get rid of habits that keep them from God's best, and to let the light of Jesus shine through them to the world. During the weekend, students were divided into teams and sported costumes based on different video-game-related themes such as Mario, Rock Band, Halo, Tetris, and Minecraft. They participated in small groups, a scavenger hunt, and an obstacle course, which helped them build friendships with one another. Twenty-one students accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and on Sunday, thirty-two students were baptized, celebrating their new life in Christ.

Believers Outwardly Express Faith in Christ at April Baptism

Fresh spring air and worship music provided the perfect setting for Calvary Albuquerque's first baptism of the year on Sunday, April 19. The sounds of cheering loved ones filled the amphitheater as Ryan and Natalie Wylie shared songs of praise to our Lord. Bible Island Director Roxie Sharp explained the significance of baptism to the children gathered there, followed by another explanation of baptism for the adults by Pastor Skip Heitzig. Men, women, and children then shared their testimonies with Calvary pastors and were baptized, demonstrating their decision to follow Christ. It was a joyous day as we celebrated the new life all believers have through Jesus.

April Connection Resource

Christians are dying for their faith in countries hostile to the gospel—and we as believers need to be aware of this. In February, Skip Heitzig and a team from Reload Love went to the Middle East to find out how they can aid children affected by terrorism. This month only, The Connection is offering an exclusive resource that includes behind-the-scenes photos and a private audio briefing from Skip about his trip. Also included is the book Killing Christians by Tom Doyle about the incredible pressure believers are under in the Middle East. You will also receive an update from Dr. Steven Collins about his controversial project in Jordan to discover the real Sodom. And you'll learn to navigate your life by the resurrection of Jesus with Skip's teaching "Say It Loud: He's Alive!" Don't miss out on this exciting, limited-time-only resource!

Order this special April resource from The Connection for a suggested donation of $30. Place your order online or when you call 1.800.922.1888.
