This Weekend at Calvary

We invite you to join us this weekend at any of our three campuses as we continue our series Crash & Burn. Lot had everything he needed for spiritual success, but his priorities were clearly fixed on the temporary pleasures of this life. In the message "Lot's Lingering Legacy," Pastor Skip demonstrates how Lot squandered his best years and how his life could have been so much more. This weekend is also Welcome Weekend, so be sure to invite everyone and definitely bring someone to hear this impactful message.

Calvary Welcomes Steve the Tour Guide from Israel

We were excited to welcome Pastor Skip's longtime friend Steve the Tour Guide at our midweek service on October 19. Steve was raised Jewish in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he came to the Lord while in college. In an on-stage interview with Skip, he spoke about his immigration to Israel, his time serving in the Israeli army, and what it is like to live in Jerusalem. He also shared about why Israel is important to Christians, the political unrest in the Middle East, and how it affects not only Israel, but nations around the world.

The Caring Tree

Uprooted from their homes, family, and friends, residents in nursing homes may suffer depression and loneliness, especially during the holidays. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they understood the loving care of Jesus Christ? The Caring Tree is an evangelical outreach that provides Christmas gifts to the residents of local nursing homes who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. By selecting the name of a resident from the Caring Tree in Solomon's Porch and blessing them with a special gift and prayer, you can share the love of Christ this Christmas. Please return your gifts by Wednesday, November 23.

October Connection Resource

Does your spiritual life seem a little bland? Learn to cherish moments with Jesus with this month's Connection resource. You will receive four booklets by Lenya Heitzig that give practical tools to help you resist temptation, face your trials with joy, forgive when you don't feel like it, and refrain from using your words to hurt. You will also receive Lenya's book Live Tastefully: Savoring Encounters with Jesus, a ten-week study that examines the meals Jesus shared with a wide range of people—emphasizing hospitality and cultivating God-given spiritual and physical hunger. Each lesson includes a recipe to encourage you to live tastefully—just the way God intended.

Order this October resource from the Connection for a suggested donation of $35 or more. Place your order online or when you call 800.922.1888.

Share Jesus' Love through an OCC Shoebox

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts. Bring Christmas joy and the love of Jesus to children around the world by partnering with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in Operation Christmas Child. We are currently distributing shoeboxes to those interested in filling them with age-appropriate toys for children throughout the world.

Pick up your shoebox in the foyer at Calvary Albuquerque or grab one of your own, and fill it with small toys, toiletries, school supplies, and other recommended items. Please remember to donate $7 or more to help cover the shipping and other project costs. If you choose to donate that $7 online, you will also have the opportunity to follow your box to its destination. Please bring your filled shoeboxes to the foyer at Calvary Albuquerque during National Collection Week, November 14-21.
