Calvary Launches Where Lives Are Changed Series

At the weekend services on October 3-4, Pastor Skip launched the new series, Where Lives Are Changed, that focuses on the vision statement of Calvary Albuquerque. The Battledrums team shared worship songs about the power and sovereignty of God, followed by a short video where Lori Thompson shared her story of how God used Calvary Albuquerque to impact her life. Pastor Skip then kicked off the series with a message called "Where Lives Are Changed" from Romans 12:1-2, reminding us that the church should be a place where a person's life can be changed as they learn about the hope and love of Christ. He called the congregation to not be changed by the world, but to be transformed by God. After the service, the Calvary pastors and deacons made themselves available at coffee stations around the campus to talk with and pray for the congregation.

Calvary Welcomes Guest Speaker Ken Mansfield

We were excited to welcome Ken Mansfield, former U.S. manager of the Beatles' Apple Records, as our guest speaker on Wednesday, September 30. Battledrums opened the service with worship before pastors Skip, Brian Nixon, and Kenny Riley took the stage to play a few covers of some popular Beatles songs. Then Ken shared his message "The Beatles, the Bible, and Beyond," looking back on his thirty years in the music industry. He told the story of how God broke, humbled, and saved him, encouraging us to see how God weaves the circumstances of our lives together to bring Him glory. After the service, Ken stayed for a book signing and to talk with the congregation.

Share Jesus' Love through an OCC Shoebox

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts. Bring Christmas joy and the love of Jesus to children around the world by partnering with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in Operation Christmas Child. We are currently distributing shoeboxes to those interested in filling them with age-appropriate toys for children throughout the world.

Pick up your shoebox in the foyer at Calvary Albuquerque or grab one of your own, fill it with small toys, toiletries, school supplies, and other recommended items. Please remember to donate $7 or more to help cover the shipping and other project costs. If you choose to donate that $7 online, you will also have the opportunity to follow your box to its destination. Please bring your filled shoeboxes to the foyer at Calvary Albuquerque during National Collection Week, November 16-23.
