Stand True 4 Blue

Stand True 4 Blue is an organization whose mission is to show support for law enforcement through positive visual presence within the community. Founded in 2015, Stand True 4 Blue works to stand up and build up our men and women in uniform through visual displays of support, letters of encouragement, Thankful Thursday outreaches, and programs and events within the community.

Currently, Stand True 4 Blue supports first responders in the Albuquerque Police Department, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, Rio Rancho Police Department, Sandoval County Sheriff's Office, Bernalillo Police Department, Corrales Police Department, specialty units, Albuquerque Public Schools Officers, Albuquerque Ambulance, and Lovelace ER. The goal is to make sure every officer knows they matter and are valued, and to unite the community in appreciating all law enforcement and first responders. For more information on how to get involved, visit standtrue4blue.com.

Feed New Mexico Kids

Did you know that New Mexico ranks first in the nation for childhood hunger? In fact, there are only four elementary schools in Albuquerque where none of the students are in need of meal assistance; 20 to 80 percent of elementary-age students in Albuquerque Public Schools qualify for federally assisted meals. And although many of these kids receive meals during the week at school, on the weekends, many simply go hungry.

We at Calvary want to do something about that. Feed New Mexico Kids provides an easy and rewarding opportunity for you to serve less fortunate children right here in our community. Simply pick up easy, snackable foods (no cooking, can openers, or preparation required) on your next grocery trip and bring them to our bins in the foyer. Your donations will help feed a child in need. Check out our complete list of acceptable nonperishable snack foods.

To volunteer to pack food, contact Alicia Aragon at alicia.aragon@calvaryabq.org.

This is an ongoing outreach to the children of our community. Together we can stamp out childhood hunger in our state.

May Connection Resource

Do you or someone you know struggle with depression or addiction? These issues are common—even among Christians. With this month's resource from the Connection, you can learn to love those who struggle with these problems just like Jesus loves them. You will receive Skip Heitzig's booklets Jesus Loves Addicts and Jesus Loves the Broken, which provide both the reasons and the remedies for the spiritual aspects behind these struggles.

Receive this limited-time resource from the Connection when you make a gift to the ministry. Request your copy online or when you call 800.922.1888.
