Orphan Sunday

More and more children are coming into CYFD custody, and the need for foster and adoptive parents has never been greater. Aspen Project wants to help you invest in the future of our kids. Change the life of a child when you become a foster or adoptive parent locally or internationally. CYFD and Aspen Project representatives are in foyer this weekend, November 18-19, to give you more information about the adoption or foster care process. We ask that you prayerfully consider getting plugged in so you can make a difference in a child's life. For additional information, visit aspen-project.com or call 505.410.4460.

Christmas Toy Drive

The Lord demonstrated His great love to us by sending hope in the gift of Jesus Christ. We can demonstrate our love for Him by helping make Christmas special for less fortunate children in our community. Place new, unwrapped toys in the large gift box located in the east foyer. Toys will be distributed in the name of Jesus to children in our community. The deadline is Wednesday, December 20.

Ministry Opportunity: Bible Island SOS

Bible Island is sending out an SOS—serve one service per month in your child's classroom. We have dedicated servants who are faithful to share the love of Christ and to teach God's truth to children every week. When you serve just one service per month in your child's classroom, you help us ensure all classes are open to full capacity each week. We guarantee you'll have as much fun as the children. Sign up to serve one service when you pick up your child in Bible Island.

November Connect with Skip Heitzig Resource

Reading the Bible should be a lifetime commitment. God is deeply concerned with the ins and outs of your life, and nothing does His work in your heart like His Word. This month's resource from Connect with Skip Heitzig is a great yearlong reminder to stay rooted in Scripture: the exclusive Bible from 30,000 Feet 2018 calendar that is based on Skip Heitzig's latest book, The Bible from 30,000 Feet. Each month of this air travel-themed calendar features excerpts from the book that will encourage you to get a better handle on your Bible and let your faith fly higher than ever before.

Receive the Bible from 30,000 Feet 2018 calendar from Connect with Skip Heitzig when you give a gift to the ministry. Request your copy online or when you call 800.922.1888.

Join a Connect Group

What are Connect Groups? Not awkward circles or mini home churches or judgmental groups—but authentic, life-giving, gospel-centered communities. Connect Groups are our intentional approach to community and discipleship within the church. These home-based community groups are a place to learn how to apply the Bible, build friendships, and serve—a place to live life together. They are the way in which we can gather under the Word of God and then scatter for the mission of God. Connect Groups make our very large church more intimate and a place for people to call home. Next to worship and Bible teaching, they are the most important thing we do.

Visit calvaryabq.org/connect to find a group near you.

Caring Tree

The Caring Tree is an evangelical outreach that provides Christmas gifts to the residents of local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Each year since 1991, the outreach delivers an average of 600 gifts, and we need your help to reach our goal. By selecting the name of a resident from the Caring Tree in Solomon's Porch and blessing them with a special gift and prayer, you can share the love of Christ this Christmas. Please return your gifts by Sunday, November 26.

Share Jesus' Love through an OCC Shoebox

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts. Bring Christmas joy and the love of Jesus to children around the world by partnering with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in Operation Christmas Child. We are currently distributing shoeboxes to those interested in filling them with age-appropriate toys for children throughout the world.

Fill a shoebox with small toys, toiletries, school supplies, and other recommended items, and remember to donate $9 or more to help cover shipping and other project costs. If you choose to donate that $9 online, you will also have the opportunity to follow your box to its destination. Bring your filled shoeboxes to the foyer at Calvary Albuquerque during National Collection Week, November 13-20.
