Jesus Loves the Broken Devotional Available on YouVersion

Pastor Skip Heitzig explores the reality of depression and brokenness in this seven-day devotional based on his heart-changing teaching series Jesus Loves People. Sometimes it seems that the people who need love the most are often the most rejected, even by the church. But the truth is that Jesus loves the brokenhearted. Using Psalms 42 and 43 as the foundation, discover both the reasons and remedies for spiritual depression through daily Scripture reading, relatable insights from Skip, and For Further Thought challenges.

Start the reading plan online or in the YouVersion Bible App.

Connect with Skip Heitzig November Resource

People have a deep desire to be loved. But sometimes, the people who need love the most are often the most rejected—even by the church. The Bible recounts Jesus' love for the devout and the doubters, for priests and prostitutes. He loves addicts, atheists, the diseased, and the depressed. And if Jesus loves people, shouldn't we? We want to help you understand God's relentless love for all people by sending you the complete collection of Jesus Loves People Lifestyle Booklets by Skip Heitzig.

This heart-changing resource is yours when you give a gift to the ministry online. You can also request this resource when you give by phone, twenty-four-hours a day, at 800.922.1888.

Caring Tree

Uprooted from their homes, family, and friends, residents in nursing homes often suffer depression and loneliness, especially during the holidays. Wouldn't it be wonderful for them to experience the loving care of Jesus Christ? The Caring Tree is an evangelical outreach that provides Christmas gifts to residents of local nursing homes. You can share the love of Christ with them this Christmas by selecting a name from the Caring Tree inside Parchments and blessing them with a special gift and prayer. Please return your gifts by Sunday, November 25.

Share Jesus' Love through Operation Christmas Child

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts. Bring Christmas joy and the love of Jesus to children around the world by partnering with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in Operation Christmas Child. We are currently distributing shoeboxes to those interested in filling them with age-appropriate toys for children throughout the world.

Fill a shoebox with small toys, toiletries, school supplies, and other recommended items, and remember to donate $9 or more to help cover shipping and other project costs. If you choose to donate that $9 online, you will also have the opportunity to follow your box to its destination. Bring your filled shoeboxes to the foyer at Calvary Church during National Collection Week, November 12-19.

Westside Campus Construction

We believe that through our upcoming Westside campus, lives will be changed, eternities will be rerouted, and empty souls will be filled. And we are encouraged by how the Lord has already moved you to give generously toward this project.

During the construction of the tabernacle—and later, the temple—God's people contributed materials and time willingly and joyfully. And, one of the largest gifts toward our Westside construction project has come through the donation of materials and services from a commercial business.

We are currently accepting bids for framing, drywall, flooring, mill work, and much more for this vital outreach project. Perhaps you are or know a business owner with relevant construction capabilities who would like to donate goods or services at cost or at a reduced rate. If you want to keep the momentum going for this vibrant work on the Westside and help literally build the church, email our Executive Operations Director, Crystal Wadin.

All vendors must be licensed, bonded, and insured; commercial experience required.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Did you know that New Mexico is #1 in childhood hunger? Help Feed NM Kids collect money to fill 2,000 boxes of food to feed Thanksgiving dinner to Albuquerque's homeless and needy students.

New Mexico ranks:
  • 1st in childhood hunger (25 percent of our children live in food-insecure homes)
  • 48th in childhood well-being
  • 48th in childhood health
  • 50th in education
A day in the life of a hungry child:
  • Twice as likely to repeat a grade
  • Three times as likely to get suspended
  • Five times as likely to commit suicide
$40 provides a Thanksgiving dinner for four; let's give them a seat at the table.

Visit calvarynm.church/feednmkids or text FEEDNMKIDS to 77977 to donate today.

Join a Connect Group

What are Connect Groups? Not awkward circles or mini home churches or judgmental groups—but authentic, life-giving, gospel-centered communities. Connect Groups are our intentional approach to community and discipleship within the church. These home-based community groups are a place to learn how to apply the Bible, build friendships, and serve—a place to live life together. They are the way in which we can gather under the Word of God and then scatter for the mission of God. Connect Groups make our very large church more intimate and a place for people to call home. Next to worship and Bible teaching, they are the most important thing we do.

Visit calvarynm.church/connect to find a group near you.
