Brew & Book at Home

SoPo and Parchments have teamed up to keep you caffeinated and well-read with Brew and Book at Home. Every week we're bundling a twelve-ounce bag of house-roasted coffee with one of our favorite books for $25. Brew a hot cup of our craft coffee and settle in with this week's book by calling SoPo at 505.338.3669 or sending a direct message to SoPo or Parchments on Instagram. Pick up your bundle curbside at our Osuna campus or request delivery to your doorstep for just $2 more.

This week's bundle features Be the Hands and Feet by Nick Vujicic and SoPo's La Copia, a Peruvian blend that is sure to give you the boost you need to cast off your cares and worries and help you find calm in the chaos. Keep your coffee close and a good book closer with Brew & Book at Home from Parchments and SoPo.

Good Friday Blood Drive

As part of our Kindness Campaign, Vitalant will set up a blood drive on Friday, April 10, from 7:30 am to noon in the Hub at our Osuna campus. Blood is desperately needed at this time, and you can help our community through the coronavirus pandemic. To facilitate social distancing and added safety measures, representatives from Vitalant will meet donors at the top of the stairs in the east parking lot to check temperatures before proceeding to the Hub. Children must remain in the parked car with another adult.

We are so thankful that all sixty appointments for the blood drive at Calvary Church Albuquerque are full. Please visit bloodhero.com to find more local blood drive opportunities.

Connect with Skip Heitzig April Resource

Predicting the future has always been part of our past. One hundred years ago, it was predicted that by now, cockroaches and mosquitos would be completely extinct and so would the letters C, Q, and X. The truth is the future is beyond our ability to predict. Only God accurately predicts what's ahead, and He makes the future known to us to in the book of Revelation. Understand what the future holds and learn how to correctly interpret the last book of the Bible with Skip Heitzig's book You Can Understand the Book of Revelation, newly reprinted with helpful illustrations and a study guide.

Calvary Church Kindness Campaign

The coronavirus pandemic is affecting everyone—across New Mexico, our nation, and worldwide. In the middle of the panic and fear, the calls for social distancing, and even rising anger and bitterness, we know that people need to be able to find kindness in the midst of chaos. We are called to help calm. We are called to spread kindness. It's no different than what God has called the church to in the past, we just feel blessed to be able to respond to this call, at this time, in this community. The Calvary Church Kindness Campaign includes demonstrating God's love in three ways.
  1. We're picking up the phone.
The Calvary Church staff is making a personal phone call to everyone in our fellowship. We have a database of thousands of phone numbers, and we're calling every one of them to see how we can pray for people and meet any needs they have.

  2. We're collecting practical items to meet real needs.
Anyone in our community can drop off paper goods like toilet paper and paper towels; hygiene items like soap, hand sanitizer, cleaning products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine products; baby items like formula, diapers, and wipes; over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and cough and cold remedies; and nonperishable food at our Osuna, Westside, and Santa Fe campuses. You don't even need to come inside. We have curbside collection bins and staff receiving donations Monday through Friday during business hours.

  3. We're delivering items to people who need them most.
Our front desk is taking phone calls at 505.344.0880 from people who are at risk and need assistance. As we learn about people's needs, we're matching them up with the items we're collecting, and Calvary Church staff and volunteers are making those deliveries.
Above all, we're trusting God. This is an extraordinary time to be a believer and to truly be the church. The power of a pandemic is nothing compared to the power of God. Pray that God will use us—His church—in a mighty way that brings glory to His great name as we spread kindness in the midst of chaos.
