Message Summary
The difficulty, pains, and distractions of life can hit every one of us: from the rich to the poor and the ordinary to the popular. They can steal our joy and peace as well as devour the plans and purposes that God has for us. Steve Wilburn encourages us to not underestimate what God can do in our lives, and he challenges us to allow the Holy Spirit to use us to reach others for Christ.

Worship: "A Worship That Transforms"
Isaiah 6:1-8
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
What good is worship if it doesn't change us? If week after week we leave the assembly of worshiping saints exactly the same way we came in, then why do it? Of course, the primary reason we worship is simply because God is worth it. But if we've really been in contact with the living God, there ought to be the evidence of changed lives. The change will be visible in our serving Him.

Deuteronomy 26-27
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
Jesus promised that all those who follow Him would have abundant life because of His grace. As believers, we believe God is good because He has blessed our lives, and if we choose to go our own way, we'll miss out on His blessings. In this study of Deuteronomy 26-27, we are reminded that faith is the entrance to the blessed life.

What Is Heaven Like?
Revelation 5:1-14
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
There are many preconceived ideas about what heaven is like: we might picture ourselves sitting on a fluffy white cloud playing a harp, or we see ourselves sitting on a porch or playing a round of golf. Some even think heaven sounds boring. In this message, we examine what heaven will really look like for believers and what we can expect when we get there.

Message Summary
As believers, we look forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the blessed hope of eternity with Him. Unfortunately, some are put off by the idea of the rapture, because the date has been incorrectly predicted for so many years. In this message, we get a glimpse into the throne room of heaven as we anticipate the joy we'll have at the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit: "The Holy Spirit—Invisible, Personal, Powerful"
John 14-16
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
Today in our series Rediscovering Our Foundations, we consider the Holy Spirit. Most of us have heard of Him, but who is He exactly? What does He do? How important is the Holy Spirit to your personal life, your family life, your work or your leisure time? Perhaps A.W. Tozer was right when he said, "For multitudes of Christians profess today the Holy Spirit is not a necessity. They have learned to cheer their hearts and warm their hands at other fires." It is my sincere prayer that will change for us in the few weeks ahead.

Deuteronomy 22-23
Deuteronomy 22-23
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
Throughout our lives, we tend to get preoccupied with our busy schedules, ignoring the needs of others. It's easy to see someone in need and say a quick prayer for them while going on our way, without giving them any physical or practical help. In this study of Deuteronomy 22-23, Skip Heitzig points out the practical examples Moses gave to the Israelites about loving others.

Info
Message Summary
People have always been fascinated with the future and what's next. As we study prophecy, we can't help but wonder if current events play into an end-time scenario. The book of Revelation is John's written account of the spiritual revelation he received from God about the future return and reign of Christ. As Skip begins in Revelation 1, he encourages us to look at the future with faith and hope.

Jesus: "Jesus in the Age of Confusion"
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
For the next few weeks, we will look together at the uniqueness of the person of Jesus. In our modern age of pluralism and blurred spiritual lines, Jesus is lost amidst the confusion. Why is believing in Jesus better than believing in Buddha, Mohammed, Moses, or the pantheon of the Hindus? Is being spiritually sincere enough? Few Christians can articulate a reason for their beliefs in such an era. Let’s change that, beginning today!

God: "Can God Be Known?"
Hebrews 11:6
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
Today we start a brand new series of messages I'm calling, "The Biography of God". The very subject matter of "God" is the loftiest of all subjects and the pinnacle of all pursuits. As we discover who God is and how He is perceptible to the human condition, we will be both lifted up and humbled all at the same time. The great transition that must be made, however, is to not stop with gathering information about God but by believing and acting in the light of that information, thus truly knowing Him.

His Death Foretold
Isaiah 52:13-53:12
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
To foretell someone’s death seems morbid and macabre—unless that someone’s death will bring life to the world. The prophet Isaiah predicted the virgin birth, the sinless life, and the atoning death of the Son of God. Jesus Christ is the personification of hope for all who receive Him; He is Hope Foretold. In this section of Scripture, we are on holy ground as we muse over the prediction of the death of our great Sin-Bearer. (See Revelation 13:8.)

His Life Foretold
Matthew 12:18-21
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
If your hope is in politics, policies, people, or possessions, you will be constantly disappointed. The hope that God gave the world, foretold by the prophets, was (and still is) a single, unique person—Jesus Christ. Of all the predictions made about what He would be and do, Matthew highlighted a few. Jesus wouldn’t fit all the misplaced expectations that people had of Him, but He would fulfill the commission His Father gave Him. Let’s look at four tasks Jesus would perform at His first coming as foretold by the prophet.

A Birth Foretold
Isaiah 7:14
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
The birth of Jesus Christ provided the world with hope. That exceptional nativity would lead to His perfect life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His eventual return to rule the world. As we begin this short series leading up to Christmas titled Hope Foretold, we first consider the prediction of His birth. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, God was providing the world with three gifts: He gave us a sign, a Son, and a Savior. Let’s see why that matters.

We're Here for You
Acts 2:43-45
Skip Heitzig
Info
Message Summary
In an age of low-commitment Christianity, the church is viewed skeptically and is seen as too intrusive. We in the church have an important role to play in changing people's minds, and that comes from making ourselves available and saying, "I'm part of those who belong to Christ, and I am here for you." As we wrap up this series, we discover four steps we can take to improve our availability.
