The crucifixion of Jesus Christ was the pinnacle of redemptive history. The magnitude of its significance is in the fact that He bore all the sins of the world. Isaiah predicted, "The LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6). At the cross that day was a crowd mostly of mockers and jeerers hurling insults at Him. But Jesus' words, even while dying, revealed the gracious and compassionate heart of God.
The primary motivation that drove Jesus toward the cross was love. As a man and a member of the Godhead, Jesus' ultimate desire was to do His Father's will. This series takes an in-depth look at the sacrificial life and death of Jesus as He set His face toward the cross, walking in accordance with His Father's will and accomplishing our salvation.
