Flight Log: Destination: Isaiah 1-39 |
|
This Wednesday night, Pastor Skip took us on a flight over Isaiah 1-39 for The Bible From 30,000 Feet. Thought to be the greatest of all the Prophets of the Old Testament, Isaiah's ministry lasted around fifty years, and his prophecies are a quoted conglomeration of both prophecies of condemnation (chapters 1-39), as well as prophecies of comfort (chapters 40-66).We also welcomed Mark Mathis, Associate Producer of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, who shared with us the premise of the controversial new film, and how it has questioned the main-stream to bring thinking back into the classroom. If you missed this flight, you can still watch it, listen to it, view photos of it, and take a quiz from the information Skip covered, all on The Bible from 30,000 Feet Flight Log page. |

The teams will be gone a total of 8 days, and will come home on Sunday, May 18.We ask that as these teams are out of state and country that you keep the following in prayer: • Pray that the team would be unified through the common goal of serving those that they are reaching out to and ultimately bringing glory to God. • Pray that the Holy Spirit would work in the lives of those they come in contact with. • Pray for individual encounters with the Lord for those in the mission teams. • Pray for safe travel, good weather, and the health of the SOM students. |

M88 At The Albuquerque Rescue Mission |
|
Friday morning the M88 DJs made their second visit to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission. Once again, the morning was chilly but our hearts were warm as we helped provide a good meal for the homeless of Albuquerque. Yo shared a brief thought about hope while sharing from Psalm 139, and Stevo and several listeners scrambled around the kitchen to create an efficient assembly line of pancakes and bacon. This second visit was quite different from the first; with things being a little slower and a little livelier (a potential scuffle was quickly eliminated). All in all, it’s hard to know who was blessed more; those of us who where there to serve, or the ones who were served. Make your plans to join us next month for our next adventure to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission. |
